Aligned Capital Partnership Pty Ltd is the trustee and investment manager of the Aligned Capital Partnership Investment Trust. The Aligned Capital Partnership Investment Trust is open exclusively to ‘Wholesale Investors’ that are Wholesale Clients within the meaning of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), and who are approved by Aligned Capital Partnership Pty Ltd as being suitable and deemed to be like-minded for the Aligned Capital Partnership Investment Trust.

I decided to end my executive career in 2017, to set up Aligned Capital Partnership Pty Ltd, with the objective of institutionalising managing my family’s money and, ultimately, opening up for a few like-minded people to invest with me. I am the sole director of Aligned Capital Partnership Pty Ltd.

Aligned Capital Partnership does not have any clients. Anyone who joins The Aligned Capital Partnership Investment Trust becomes co-investors. This removes the issue of the principal and the agent. The entire worth of my family and myself is invested in the Aligned Capital Partnership Investment Trust (apart from our family home and some investments in private markets that I will be exiting when possible and I will then also be allocating those funds to the Aligned Capital Partnership Investment Trust). I make no investments outside of the Aligned Capital Partnership Investment Trust.

I have been engaged in the capital markets in Australia since 2010, as an investor, as a business founder and as a business operator. Before that, I spent ~20 years in global commodities markets (Copenhagen, Singapore, Oslo, Melbourne & London). My entire career has been centred around optimising the allocation of capital and resources, operational excellence, strong focus on cost management, innate understanding of the customer, rigorous risk management and constant drive for innovation.

Aligned Capital Partnership is neither a value nor a growth investor. Aligned Capital Partnership is an investor that seeks to operate with a microscope for details and a telescope for the future. Aligned Capital Partnership tilts to the long-term and that is the way the Aligned Capital Partnership Investment Trust is organised.

In all I do for the Aligned Capital Partnership Investment Trust, I always reserve the right to use my own considered judgement.

I believe that my investment edge is that I can make sensible unbiased decisions that I can stick with and hold over a long-term horizon. I am not pressured by time and my natural bias is to take no action.

My investing interests are to invest wherever and whenever the best opportunities in a company’s securities present themselves, particularly, although not exclusively, in equities.

My goal is excellence in investing, which means achieving the returns my co-investors are seeking from their investment in the Aligned Capital Partnership Investment Trust. To achieve that, my aim is to continue to spend high-quality time studying high-quality people that are building high quality businesses and finding high-quality investment opportunities for a select number of high-quality co-investors.

I believe consistently excellent performance can only be achieved through superior knowledge of companies and their securities, not through attempts at predicting what is in store for the economy, interest rates or the securities markets. Therefore, my investment process is entirely bottom-up. I do my own research on the companies and investments that I am considering for the Aligned Capital Partnership Investment Trust.
